This is Scotland, this is Edinburgh. Even more important this is the Edinburgh Fringe. All that is important happens here come sunshine (rarely) come wind (bloody cold wind) and rain (lots of that).
The show must go on and it does; even if dampened and chilled.
Next year if we harness thousands of dolphins and feed them fish we should drag ourselves south to sunnier climes; oh but wait then it wouldn't be the same. Edinburgh is what it is whatever the weather. The heart, the soul of the worlds greatest Festival event. And the artery that supplies that body with the life blood on which it survives is the High Street.
